Help me !!!

I'm driving a LR2, In may last year, the triangle yellow light turned on while I was driving in highway. Since then, three problems have been displayed as "transmission fault","HDC system unavailable",“special problem off”. However, you can feel nothing wrong when you drive it. This morning, a Volvo specialist told me that my AWD is not working now, the vehicle has turned to be FWD. He also helped me check and found code: U0136 "lost communication with differential control module-rear" 00-general failure information no sub type information. Did anyone meet the same problem and what is the most likely reason? how much will I pay if I go to dealer to repair?

Hi ther,

I had the same problem and had to replace the rear diff module.

It happpens because water gets in the module, mine cost £1.00 but that's another story.

Also if it does come back after the module which mine did you have to replace the steering angle sensor on the steering wheel.

I tried, but nothing happens. There might be some broken components to be replaced.

OMG, it sounds to be a very serious problem. It must be quite expensive! I do have an extended warranty, do I need to provide the documents showing the every time maintainenance?

Do you know is it possible that it was the problem of electrical pump or sensor? Did your car have any abnormal noise at that time?

Hi,

I wouldn't know if you would need any documents,

But the thing was after I changed the module the fault came back, then I changed the steering angle sensor and it has never come back even after 1 year so I think problem solved.

The cheapest way is just to replace the steering angle sensor, it is not that expensive.

The module are normally priced around £500,

So if I was you I would replace the steering angle sensor and then do a diagnostics fault check.

Hmmm, unfortunately sounds like failure of the ABS modulator - the component cost is about £700 - eek!
Hope it is something cheaper!

Thank you JC80, I hope it is just a problem of sensor. Some people mentioned that an old battery could cause that. My battery actually has been used more than 6 years. But the problem came out while I was in highway, so it may not be the problem of battery as the battery at that moment should be fulfilled. Anyway, I will find the answer on Monday. I do hope it's a quick fix.

really?but the ABS light is not displayed and the ABS still works recently when it snowed heavily. I cannot afford that amount of money. Hope the extended warranty could cover it !
