'09 HSE service due. Cost?

I live in Brighton and i'd like to have an informed opinion before I speak to main dealers about servicing my car next week. Can any of you give me a good idea of what I should expect to pay?

thanks. Whereabouts unknown stop going to follow stream until reach civilisation stop message ends

United Kingdom

Services alternate between "A" and "B" services.

My local dealer will charge £345.05 for an A service and £443.80 for a B service. This includes VAT, lubricants and scheduled replacement parts, but excludes any additional items that may be found during the service, such as brake pads.

John.

UPDATE:

Car booked in with my main dealer for next Friday morning. £364.

I'm supplying the engine oil (Castrol Edge 5w30 Fst A1, 5.9lt needed)

Moto-Oil.co.uk 5ltrs+1ltr(+1ltr free)= £62 inc delivery (Opie oils would have matched this)

Worth noting that the initial 'B' service quoted cost was £540ish and when I mentioned that the prices I had seen on this forum were substantially lower, my dealer worked hard to help me to reduce the cost, including suggesting that I supply the oil and where to get it from.

I have a great relationship with the service dept at my main dealer and they have always done their absolute best to exceed my expectations. I'll post a final update when the service has been carried out. Whereabouts unknown stop going to follow stream until reach civilisation stop message ends

If your happy with the price and you are happy with the dealer service fine - remember you car is entering its 5th year so if you can find a recommended indy locally you might save some money should you change your mind in subsequent years.

As far as I can tell the service schedule is pretty basic (both A and B) which any competent mechanic can perform once the vehicle is out of warranty. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Many thanks for the replies.

Part of my decision was based on the 12mth warranty expiring in a couple of weeks and I figured that while the car was still within warranty, that I should have it serviced by the dealership I bought it from incase any warranty items required replacing. Yes it'll cost a bit more for the service but for all the goodwill the service desk and techs at Caffyns have shown me since I bought the car last January, I feel it's a good idea to keep it with them for now.

I'm also looking at their warranty but at over £600 for a year, it'll be a real stretch for us. I just hope that this car doesn't develop any serious issues during the next year. Whereabouts unknown stop going to follow stream until reach civilisation stop message ends
