United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Barolo Black

While I was out this afternoon before tea time a passer by told me I had only one headlight working I was a bit surprised as I expected the car computer to flag up that I had a light fail on dash as my past vehicles have all told me if a bulb was out. So my question is I'm guessing my 07 SE TD4 does not have this facility. Thanks in advance for any feed back on this subject.

Nope...definitely not a feature on your car. In fact I am not sure it is on the latest models. No doubt someone will "enlighten" us soon... John

Most people seem to have fitted the Osram Night Breakers to replace dipped beam originals and seem to be very pleased with them.
So my question is, has anybody on here fitted Night Breaker lamps to both dipped and main beam, and if so what are their opinions of the advantages/improvement or otherwise of the main beam performance?

I've replaced dipped and main with nightbreakers.

Happy with performance of both, but changed soon after getting the car, so can't really comment on main beam improvement. Steve

I replaced both on my MY07 but only the main beam after realising I had ended up with a spare set of upgrade H7s and they could go in the main beam... does make quite a difference so worth doing.

Recently upgraded my wife's car, that already had brighter grade bulbs in, to the new Nightbreaker Unlimited (H4 fitting) and they are much brighter with a good even spread on the dipped beam. Some brighter bulbs appear to produce dark patches. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

I replaced both dipped and main beams with the Osram NBU. The main beams are good and whiter / brighter but I am a tad disappointed by the bulbs in the dipped lights. They ARE brighter but are producing a couple of dark patches within the beam area that I initially found very noticeable. It was suggested they might not be seated properly so I checked that and they were fine so I now believe that some bulbs will just throw these patches as no-one else here seems to have the same experience.

I plan to swap the sets of bulbs over to see if the ones currently in the main beam lights are any better in the dipped beam position as I don't think the "patches" will matter as much on main beam. I am in any case getting used to them and despite the patches am happier with the amount of light I now have "out front".

Nighbreaker unlimited versus HID xenon

I have upgraded both main and dip on my prefacelift 2010 standard headlights to Nightbreakers and have been impressed with the improvement.
.
I've bought 2012 projector lights to upgrade and will be transferring the H7 main beam bulbs.
.
I can't make up my mind on the projector dip beams as whether to buy 'unlimited' nightbreaker H11's or whether to buy a HID H11 xenon conversion kit.
.
Any suggestions / comments on H11 choice would be appreciated.
.

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Indus Silver

Hi Guys.....

Well now all the Xmas fuss is over I thought I would get on and order a set of night breaker unlimited. Easy eh.... No.... Sorry if this is a bloody silly question but how can I tell which bulbs are fitted....my handbook says both main and dip are HB3 but all the bulb suppliers are quoting H7 and H11 when I put in my cars details.

It's a 12 reg ordered, built and supplied in 2012.

If I take a light unit out will it be marked?

Kind regards

Chris, if your car is definitely 12my (no daylight running light) then its h11 for dipped and h7 for main.if you look closely at headlight its moulded into the lens at the bottom.
