Sorry gent's but IMHO the Scorpion is one of the least attractive options available.

To be fair, I think any tyre down to 4mm is likely to be dodgy in snow, probably even Wintracs. I had no trouble in deep snow with new Wranglers, but I wouldn't trust worn ones to be much good. Although a 4mm tyre may appear to be "half worn" in reality it has lost well over half of its grip. Of course since I bought the Wintracs I haven't seen ANY snow! |

With the current weather shouldn't all of us in the South be going back to summer tyres now |

Used them for 2 winters now in the Pyrenees - I live at 1800m and they get me up my 1:5 drive no problem and back from Barca airport at night in a blizzard. The FL2 traction control squeezes every last ounce of grip out of them

The Zeros do seem to be wearing quite fast. Can't compare mileages directly as I change to winter tyres in (yes) winter - but my Wintracs have worn less over two winters than the Zeros over one summer. I'm rotating them now with the spare, with the aim of getting four Wranglers when they wear out and just keeping the best of the Zeros for an emergency spare. At this rate I might just get three summers out of them, so I might be changing car instead of tyres! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Mine has had Pirelli Scorpion Zeros since new and the fronts have lasted 18k miles and the backs 20k-ish per set, with even wear across all tyres.

I think I'd go for Wranglers - they seem to last much longer than Scorpions. But they do get noisy once they are down to about 4mm.

Very happy with my General Grabber GTs, but too early to say how well they'll wear. Handle at least as well as the Zeros IMO and wouldn't say that they were noisy. |
