Hi I'm hopping someone can point me in the right direction to help me get an updated Sat Nav DVD. Are they all the same across the range.

That DVD ROM is one of the original 3-disk (?) set issued with your car when new. Later discs are available from LR at a price. Most of us go to ebay (as I did) to get a later set. Mine is now running on a set of Volvo discs which I found to be compatible. Search on here (for Sat Nav, not DVD) there are many threads about it. Disks 2006-2012 are all the same. MY13 is a different system.

I have done some "investigation" on this stuff. If you put the satnav dvd in to your computer. and look at the root folder, there should be a file called VERSION.TXT. If you open this file in notepad or whatever you will see only one line there. on mine it says COMMENT=2011 ver.1 This dvd came of an Subaru and i just popped it in and it did work. so i made a clone of that disc and burned it to a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc at 2,5x speed. when that was done i inserted this disc and the satnav bootet up normaly and its woking fine.

P, if you look at the photo it clearly shows "2006". No file investigation needed! There are later disks available up to 2012 AFAIK.

Thanks for the feed back, so it might be possible to clone/copy another DVD to work in my system, a friend of mine has just got a new 63 plate but I see from a post above that that's a newer system and is not compatible. Will check eBay out. Just another thought my brother has a 59 plate D4 are they the same system as ours, he live's out of town but will try a copy if compatible when he's next over.

I cannot speak for the D4 system compatibility, but I am not a supporter of cloning/copying (and nor is this Forum). Disks on ebay can be obtained for £50 or less. Those I have were brand new Volvo RTI branded 2011 & cost me £55.00 in Jan 2012. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

The D4 uses HDD to store the content on the dvd. the only way i can see to update a D4 is to eighter remove the hdd and connect it to a pc and copy new files over to it, or locate the Firewire connector in the fuse box and connect a firewire enabled pc and corresponding program to update the software on these D4's.

Hi thanks again for feed back but cloning/ copying a disk was not my original request that was from another member, I'm happy to buy them as I first mentioned in my original post, "point me to where I can get them." As long as the ones off eBay are compatible and are original dvd's and not copy's I guess everyone's happy.
