Whatever you do use, DO NOT MIX SCREENWASH FLUIDS. Some react with others and cause curdling and then blockages which can be an expensive nightmare to sort out (Been there and cost me £90!!). Always rid yourself totally of the old stuff and flush through before adding your new stuff. Personally, I always flush with hot top water and Milton sterilisation fluid before re-filling with the new fluid. Hope that helps someone out there. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Good advice. I'll empty mine out and flush before I put it in. Thanks for that. |

Think it was the halfrauds one used neat that made my tailgate handle go streaky. Someone else on here made a post about that.

To be honest that's not a bad thing to do anyway even if not mixing screenwash fluid. A sort of snot like substance sometimes develops and a through flush out once a year is time well spent. IT's more difficult with washer bottles like the FL2, ie hidden away and filled through a long spout/tube. Old days when bottle was accessible it was always easy just to stick the garden hose in for a bit. Good tip about using Milton, hadn't thought about that. Thanks. |

I'd hesitate to use the Makro stuff. I used some once and it was very cheap but it formed a sort of slime and blocked the filter on the filler. Didn't block the jets, but you could see bits floating in it. |

The only problem with Fairy liquid is that it is full of salt - that is how it gets its viscosity |

I've found fairy liquid to congeal over time and block the filter - £49 to get it sorted

Compared to the salt from the roads that sticks to the bodywork ... I'm not worried. I do generally use the car wash shampoo more these days though. |
