United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Sumatra Black

Well we have had some cold morning and so far my car has been faultless since the filter was replaced. Heard interview with guy from AA on radio. It might not be a north east phenomenon? Issues are national and might not just be supermarket fuels!! 2008 XS TD4, Sumatra Black, Manual.

Re: Reduced engine performance light

My Landy still A1, after changing the filter Thumbs Up
I'm thinking the clogged filter was probably caused up by a build up of contaminants, rather than just one fill up of fuel.
These filters must run at a low tolerance, would also be cheaper if the filters were of the cartridge type. Rather than having to replace the whole unit & then have to dispose.
I can't see my landy ever going the 2 years or 30k without changing the filter, as stated by Landrover. Can't seem to managed over 8k or one year. Well that's been my experience, since owning my FL2. Landy has now gone.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black

commonrail engines with electronic pump will use a much finer filter than older mechanical governed engines which could be causing the issue. Had the REP fault come up just before Christmas when visting family in Irelanx and eas heading back tomthe ferry, was able to reset by turning off. Fault has come back on again today but car is going in for a service tomorrow so will make sure filter is changed thanks to advice on here Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
