Leak in Rear Side Window

Hi

Has anyone got any advice on a water leak I have... I have noticed a little dribble of water on the inside of the driver's side rear most side window by the aerial connector - only when I have washed it to date but the more recent wet weather has shown this happens in heavier rain.

I suspect either something in the channel where the roof rails fit or the sat nav aerial (I once had a Skoda that persistently leaked water into the side of the boot and it turned out the previous owner had clonked the aerial that is fitted in the same place as the Freelander's sat nav aerial, only a new aerial fixed it).

I have looked into a part of the roof lining but couldn't see any water and removed the rear most little stud on the roof rail part and fitted a small amount of sealant but no joy.

Any advice most welcome.

I would take it to my dealer, but it is an hour's round trip and no doubt I'll have to return more than once for it to be put right, so I'd like to see if there is something simple to try first.

Thanks

I think with a new car like yours, I would be straight round to the dealers. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Got to agree wiyh Bugblatter, that is one of the reasons for buying new or nearly new. It should be the dealers concern to keep you happy so you tell the whole world what a wonderful car they sold you and how well you have been looked after.

Thanks guys for your replies and I don't disagree with you. I was hoping there might be a simple thing to try first which might solve the problem.

No issue with telling the world what a wonderful car the Freelander is, but dealers? An hour or two of wasted time out of my usual 10 hour day, normally involving a preliminary look, booking in for the cheap option and then back again for the proper fix that should have been done on visit one. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red
