2010 2.2 TD4 AUTO REMAP?

Hi All

Sorry if this has been covered previously. My landy is a 150 setup as far as I am aware. I was wondering if anyone with the same has had a remap and what the MPG improvement has been as well as any other problems or improvements?

Thanks

The TD4 150 and SD4 190 are mechanically identical, so mapping the TD4 to 190 will have no adverse effects at all. Superchips may even offer to load a factor SD4 map on to the Bluefin so you would be 100% factory.

That's what they offered on my A3. But of course the factory 170 Audi map.

You have to be careful mapping the eD4 and TD4e. These models have smaller injectors and at 180/190 bhp the duty cycle on the injectors is maxed out. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Cheers both! It's not a td4e thankfully so all looks good. It's got a year on warranty to go so won't mess with it until that's done with, but I'm definitely getting it done after that.

You will not regret it. I had our 09 TD4 remapped by JE Engineering at Coventry and it transformed the FL. Better acceleration, and that sort of bogging down as you try and pull into a gap is still there but much reduced. Best bit? I used to get 30mpg (auto) and now get 36mpg and my driving style is not exactly sedate either. No downside.

BTW, do check with your insurer. Mine (elephant) flatly refused cover but then I looked around and ended up getting it for 30% less than the unmodified premium from Flux, so did me a favour there too.

The FL2 in SD format is pretty good and with well spaced ratios, the torque figures for both the TD and SD are the same, to get improved mpg it is usually the torque settings that are changed, the bhp is much higher up the rev range so really doesn't affect the mpg in the same way. The main saving on mpg is the lower max torque starts earlier and therefore the car can be held in a higher gear at lower revs. One needs to be careful with the dash readout for mpg as changing the mapping on some chips or boxes also falsifies the mpg read out and a brim to brim check is the only answer as to whether one is actually getting improved mpg. With an auto I would assume one would not do so well due to the box electronics set the change points and it may not hold the higher gears longer or even change up earlier. I did get better mpg with my old SF with a manual box when the tuning box was switched to higher torque settings especially when towing, the SD auto actually holds higher gears than the SF on the same roads and returns similar mpg when towing so I haven't bothered with any form of tuning. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.
