try greasing the cables at the gearbox end - apply grease, exercise the cables by moving gearstick side to side & fore & aft, apply grease, exercise the cables, etc. Just to "work" the grease up the cables. Mine tends to do it in 4th. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Right hand side of engine bay, you will see the cables (look down between battery and engine block) if you get someone to move the gear stick. As said, just grease all around them. |
