Hi All

I've recently bought a 2010 GS, it was advertised with DAB radio and says FM Digital on the unit. The manual says multiple pushes of the fm/am button should bring on the digital, but it doesn't.

Am I doing something stupid? Or is this NOT a DAB unit and the fm digital is just misleading?

Any help much appreciated!

I don't think 2010 has DAB radio. You can easily tell as the display shows DAB when you switch on. I am sure there have been prior threads on this topic. It seems that description FM Digital is misleading. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Digital on the radio button refers to digital tuning not DAB - it's a common misconception to think Digital refers to DAB when it doesn't. It has been covered a few times over the years and will no doubt be covered a few more times in the future.

As others have said, it should come up with DAB on the screen when you switch the audio unit on if you have it. Also as you scroll through the FM button it will come up with FM1, FM2, DAB1, DAB2 if you have DAB and just the FM options if you don't.

DAB was available from pretty early on in the Freelander 2's life but it was an extra fit on most models and not fitted by many. It became more common from 2011MY and standard in 2012.

And from what I've read on here it is not possible to upgrade.

Not so sure about standard on 2012 onwards, my son in law has a 2013 my but no DAB!  MY2014 SD4 XS

Given the car was advertised with DAB and it doesn't have it, I would be back round to the dealer asking them for a pretty sizeable goodwill gesture.

My MY11 doesn't have DAB but strangely the fuse marked as DAB is in place. Does it supply something else too?

I've emailed the dealer notifying them of the issue and requesting a call back, I'll keep you updated on any progress...

I'm being fobbed off by the dealer a bit. I'm just about to ask for a good will gesture, and I expect they will come back with 'what did you have in mind?'. Does a full set of rubber mats and a load space mat sound enough or would I be selling myself short?

Any suggestions?!

Your post prompted me to look at the listing for my car when I bought it in Feb this yr and the advert says electric adjustable seats , never noticed it before and being a GS it hasn't got them

A number of years ago we bought a Ford Fusion advertised as having ABS fitted. A few days after picking up I questioned where the light on the dash was on start up and further searching found no ABS unit under the bonnet... the dealer took the car back but they had sold our trade in already so we went off in search for one with it fitted.
