The Office Christmas Party

It's that time of year again so what is everyone up to for the office Christmas party? (Assuming you work in an office)

Our office is having a low key outing on the 13th for a meal at a restaurant straight after work but on the 20th, we are joining forces with the office at the other end of the corridor for an outing to a restaurant and casino in Derby.

I can usually sum up office Christmas parties with my favourite word: Shenanigans Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Your so right. You have to work with them, not play with them! Besides which I've known a few scores settled on the Christmas outing.Thumbs Up

It's normally a pub crawl for our one which I avoid. If it was a nice meal before hand, like other depots do, I would probably go.

Spending a whole day drinking isn't my scene. I get on great with all the folks I work with but when drink is added some just can't handle it. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I'm happy to get Christmas Eve off for the first time in long time, normally it's just the 25th/26th and 1st/2nd. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

This all gets a bit sad for the self-employed. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Well our party was good last night. We went to the casino in Derby and I waded in with £20 in chips and took the attitude of if it goes it goes, I walk away. I lost some on blackjack despite getting off to a flyer with my opening hand of 21! At one point I had £5 left but thanks to betting on red on roulette I ended up quitting whilst ahead with £27.50!

Funniest part of the night was when I sat down at the 3 card poker table (no clue how to play it) thinking it was the blackjack table. I bet £2 and then worried when 3 cards were dealt and it dawned on me!

By pure fluke, the other guys folded and the dealer asked me to 'show down' and I had a straight flush! Walked away with £4! Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
