Australian MY13 TD4 - After MArket Audio Possible?

Hi All,

I've pretty much made the decision to get an MY13 TD4 (Aus base model), with Auto transmission and a couple of other extras inc. leather pack.

I note that the TD4 comes with a 'standard' 80W audio system, and doesn't have an option to upgrade to higher spec Meridian systems (upgrades are only possible on the higher spec SE and HSE models).

Are there after market audio systems available for Aus TD4's, preferably with Sat Nav and Rear Camera?

Cheers,

Okka.

I am pretty sure you'll be able to find some. I recall going into Alberts car audio in Perth (looking for a bit of fascia plastic to finish off my custom Garmin sat nav install) and seeing audio units in their cataloge for a Freelander 2. Give them, or alike, a call and check on your options... MY10 TD4 SE Auto

I looked into this a while ago and its was easy to do, cost to me was around 1800.00...have not got around to doing it yet though

This included a Pioneer (from memory) head unit with Bluetooth, satnav etc. Included plastic fascia to make it look factory, reversing camera that clipped in where the number plate light is, wiring adapter harness, fitting and so on. Basically everything done and fitted and no holes, cuts or any permanent mods so the new unit could be pulled back out and oem stereo fitted if I decided to sell the LR.

I replaced mine about 1 1/2 years ago in a MY12 model really happy with it, but if I was to do it again I would of purchased a Pioneer Sat/Nav model and added a Pure DAB unit as well or a unit that did it all.

Thanks all for your quick replies. Does anyone know if the aftermarket units are finished to look like they were factory fitted so far as facia / surrounds go etc?

Cheers

Okka

I got all my mounts and harness's from Incartec UK.
http://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=3684 CanBus and Parking Distance Control restore interface
http://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=3260 Dash Facia and 2 Din Cage
http://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=2838 Antenna Adapter
http://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=3038 Pioneer Steering Wheel Control Harness (Search for others if you go for a different Head Unit Brand)

With this kit you will get everything you'll need to do the install apart from the harness the goes from the ISO plug to whichever brand head unit you buy, that harness you can get from Supercheap or Repco etc...

After the install the only thing that you wont have is the dash clock as that is controlled by the factory head unit.
