PRANG!!

Well on Wednesday had my first shunt after 38 years of driving. My fault, can't deny, rear ended him (no puns please), but assisted by a stupid woman changing lanes when indicating right, and then suddenly deciding she wanted to go left instead. Car in front was setting off, had gone about 2 yards when he had to stop. I was looking right to look for a gap, saw him go through my peripheral vision, and did the same, as in thousands of other similar situations it has gone smoothly.
Not too much damage to the Landy, but take it from me, Volkswagen Golfs are no match for them on a one to one.
Got it on camera, have sickened myself watching it endless times, but can't post as technically it is still potentially evidence.
And I don't have a bleep machine either Laughing
My pride is destroyed (actually it isn't a I have done 15-20000 miles a year for years, so the law of averages was bound to get me eventually)
Car getting whisked away on Wednesday for repair.
Oh well, it could be worse, at least I've got my winter tyres on ready for the snow (DOH, no car though).
Anyway you all have a nice weekend.

research shows, eating chicken improves your spatial awareness and reaction time without increasing your weight so braking ability is not compromised.

Did that once while driving a BT Land Rover back in the early 80's. Rear ended an old Anglia and watched as it disintegrated and all four hub caps went off in different directions. Not a scratch on the landy.

I offered to call the cops, but he wasn't for it. I suspect it didn't have an MOT. Whistle garioch43

Bad luck but at least no one was hurt and metal can be repaired! Thumbs Up

I rear ended someone in my first car, I had a mk3 Fiesta and i hit a Sierra. Had quite a bit of damage to mine (both wings, bonnet, lights and bumper) but was still repaired by the insurers - rear end of Sierra had pushed in by about 2 feet!!!! (infact it looked shorter than my Fiesta!) The only 'win' the Sierra had was its exhaust pipe sticking a perfect hole through my front valance.

"asking CG but are you really a chicken farmer? "

Do you know anyone who would PRETEND to be a chicken farmer? In my old disguise as a Civil Servant he'd have been called something like an agricultural produce and supply supervisor...............

The world needs farmers!

To add insult to injury, not just bodywork, bottom valance has pierced oil cooler, so daren't even make it safe to drive now. New oil as well.
I eat lots of chicken CG, and have never hit anybody going through the drive in, so you may have a point.
From now on, I will only drive around in KFC car parks. Laughing
p.s. do Polos get better to drive, or will it always be sh*t?
