Monty Hall Divers Graveyards

Just watching a recorded program from tonight about a blue hole in Dahab in Egypt

Exploring why a suggested 100 divers have died at the location, it's 90 m deep and lots of people who are only rated to 40m end up dying,

There is a arch at around 60m but at that depth they can see it and it's becoming a lure, it's closer than you think but they end up been disorientated due to gases in the system, also at 60m they breath harder, they need more air to fill their lungs and according to the program, people have half a tank left, but that's 2 mins of airtime at that depth, then then have a empty tank, no air to put in their vest and downs the only direct they are head Shocked

Very interesting program, especially for me as it's something I've always fancied doing, diving Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Very scary after 40 metres, especially for the poor chap who managed to video his own death. I have tried scuba but only down to 10 metres and that was deep enough for me! - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

I've tried Scuba diving, it's not for the faint hearted, the 'try dives' you can get on holidays are well worth the experience but when you start on serious stuff you soon realise how quickly things can go wrong. Changing goggles, removing tanks and buddy breathing even just a few meters down can very quickly have you in a real tiz and it's a long way back up if you choose to panic and head for home.
It's a long time since I went through my PADI course, my buddy was killed in a car crash and my interest wained after that, shame really as the photo ops would be pretty good.

i've only done it in the pool at the hotel

In Dominican Republic, the pool was that milky near the bottom i swap into the side wall Shocked No wonder i ended up ill that holiday and nearly ended up on a drip like the people i saw in reception

Were as in Cuba i swam around looking at the tiny bikini bottoms of the dive instructor from Bolivia, a most memorable dive when the tiny bit of string to the side became undone

But a fascinating program to say the least, the chap filming himself, must have been terrible, drowning is my worst nightmare after been eaten by a shark when it comes to swimming in the sea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Don't worry about Sharks Nick, they bite people but don't eat them, they don't like the taste of human blood, most victims bleed to death after the Shark clears off, probably saying 'errgggh, English food is Censored '. Laughing
