The heated steering wheel is fantastic, won't have another car without one, I use it every morning now that the temperatures have dropped.

It's the same principle as having heated seats.

I notice that a few are saying the sat nav has improved, this is the first LR I've had with it in fact it's the first car I've had with it full stop, not something I normally opt for. I've found it to be awful on the two occasions I've used it 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Had a 13 XS as a courtesy car last friday whilst ours was in for service , as I went to drive the car back to pick mine up I set the sat nav for the dealers address , I didn't hear any spoken instructions during the hours journey which I thought odd as was used to it on the TomTom Start 60 installed in mine .
I thought the 13 model was a much quieter drive than mine and was impressed with the cabin and EPB .

There is a volume control and you can set individual volumes for Sat nav, parking sensors and radio

I sort of prefer the old satnav as it was more colourful - not a fan of the black and white menu screen. I know the same system is fitted in the Range Rover and Jaguar models and the motoring press quite often slate the satnav as being behind the times. Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

I haven't had an issue with the new Sat Nav yet. But to be fair it has not been used that much. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

What I did like on the old Sat Nav was the ability to set it so you was always heading up the screen, the new one I haven't fathomed out if it's possible, so one minute your heading across the screen, then down the screen, then off at an angle. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Press the compass soft key on the map display and it will cycle through the available options which includes North Up or Heading Up and so on.

Owners Manual Page 110.

Compass (always indicates North). Press to select: North up, heading up or bird's eye map style.
