Bumper issue?? Parking sensor fault?? | |
Sorry, this is abit of a long post! I've got an issue with some aftermarket reversing sensors I had fitted. They have never worked correctly, most of the time they pick up the ground when reversing. The fella who fitted them for me has fitted the same sensors to 3 cars myself and my wife have owned in the past so I know he isn't a cowboy.
He's been back today and fitted some different sensors today which has hopefully cured the problem. He tells me he has fitted many sensors to FL2's and he didn't know why mine didn't work, he say's he even phoned LR and they couldn't help.
Anyway, he is wondering if the previous owner had removed the bumper and not put it back on correctly? His thoughts were that if the bumper has not been seated correctly it might be throwing one of the sensors out. We have looked around the bumper and it seems ok, no gaps etc. I've got a scuff on my bumper that I had looked at last week, I was told that the bumper had been re-painted.
Bit of a long winded post (sorry) but if a bumper is removed is it straight forward to re-fit? Can it be refitted incorrectly? If it has been re-fitted incorrectly is there anything to look for? Mine lines up and has no gaps etc. Any ideas? Thanks all! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
