Stick with your standard rims IMHO. Changing to 19" or 20" rims will mean more expense with tyre purchases and far less choice with your selection of tyres. |

I changed my wheels from the standard HSE to some from an Evogue - I don't think the GS look that different in all honesty. I would wait until you need new tyres - spend your money on body coloured handles and wing mirror caps - I think they make the real difference

I agree with Wing, there can be a big increase in price with tyre size and up at 19/20" the wheels look silly on the Freelander as they give an illusion that there is too much gap under the arches, at the end of the day it's a 4WD and needs a decent looking tyre on it.

Agree with Wing to a certain extent regarding tyres and expense, but how many miles will you be doing, most of us on here are getting 30k+ out of a set of rubber with a premium brand tyre, but the extra cost of another £50 a corner is very little divided over 30000 miles. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

I'm still trying to find some body coloured mirrors and handles. Not easy to find in lago grey.

Compare Carries car with this one, mav's old one, the 19" wheels for me make the tyres look flat, it's an awkward look that doesn't do anything for me.

I don't cover many miles now, approx 8k a year so the tyre cost within reason doesn't bother me too much. |

I do think they loll good but possibly a little too big. The 19s suit the car better having that bit bigger tyre profile. |

So with that mileage a set of tyres premium brand will be less than £200 a year plus the one off cost of the rims, you can pick a set of take offs up for £800 with rims. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

I got some 16" wheels from another forum member for the winter months and think it gives the car a better 4x4 look. Personal choice of course. |

£499 is a bargain. Think the plan should be to keep an eye out for a bargain set of 18s or 19s.
