Install both a telescope and a rifle. You could then have a spotter and a shooter! There have been predictions of spectacular cometary visits before, but all have disappointed, even the legendary Halley's Comet. Would be nice if this one puts on a bit of a show. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

In about 1986/87, I paid good money to go up above the light pollution in an old plane (called a Comet) from Southend airport to see Halleys Comet. I was in a plane load of boffins who all Ooh'd and Ahh'd at the sight of it. All I saw was the reflection of my own face in the porthole window. T'was all !

Nasa say they are "amazed" that a small chunk of Comet Ison appears to have remained intact after its brush with the Sun
