Think it was the Daily Mail that ran a story the other day relating to Joey's £70,000 watch - and he cant tell the time. Makes your blood boil that mummy and daddy couldn't be bothered with such a basic childhood task or that he cant be bothered to learn himself.

Joey's 'mummy' topped herself when he was just 10 years old. How well do you think you would have coped? Plenty of people can't tell the time or read but it doesn't make them wrong 'uns does it? If Joey can't tell the time, who is going to teach his kids how to do such basic tasks? It's a vicious circle. Presumably he had has some schooling but they appear to have failed him too. I think he comes across as a genuinely nice person, all things considered so perhaps you're just peeved that he (allegedly) owns a watch that cost more than the car you drive! Whilst we are on the subject, your parents obviously didn't teach you any compassion and you don't appear to have learned any either. Never mind, you just carry on believing what you read in the gossip columns. Yawn Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Don't stop with Joey, he just a product of the messed up society we live in, there's plenty more to choose from. To make it in the life all you need is some confidence and you've made it. Education, ability, skill, working hard doesn't come into it unfortunately.

No doubt he won't be heard of in a year or two's time but who can blame him for taking every opportunity to earn as much as he can, while he can. What's he supposed to do, turn it down saying "Nah, I'm too fick - give it so someone else who's clevererer than me". Good luck to him - he's not harming anyone is he? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Apart from Steve Davis, whom I was at school with, I've not heard of the others. Semi recognise Adlington and of course that old fart who still cites his one moment of glory, making a dress for Diana years ago. I mean she's been dead for 16 years for goodness sake.

Changed your tune a bit Steve D? I actually lost both parents at a similar age to Joey in a car crash. Imagine what that did to me!!! Masses of compassion were instilled in me by my remaining family then and to this day, as I do with my own kids. No where in my post did I mention compassion, I was simply referring to why on earth would somebody "allegedly" buy a watch so expensive and not know how to use it?

And it was a full page spread, not a gossip column.

None taken...... MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

I haven't changed my tune! I do think he's genuinely entertaining to watch and he could possibly be putting it on a bit because that's his character - it's how he has found to present himself to the public and earn a living. However, common sense should tell anyone that someone on a couple of hundred quid a week to appear on a 'reality' show and despite a bit of celebrity which had led to some guest appearances on tv shows and some personal appearance fees, I don't think there's any way he has got £70K to lay out for a watch. Nearly everyone who goes on those jungle shows are there for one of two reasons - for money or to get a bit of exposure that may prolong their shelf life. I doubt if many of them have got £70k to their name, let along being able to buy a watch for that much. He claims he can't tell the time and the alleged £70k watch is just a fashion item with no hands! There's plenty of stories on the web of him being mugged for his £10k Rolex and that could possibly be true but replace it with one worth £70K? No way.

Just my opinion, mind. Whistle
