I have recently received the letter regarding the safety recall, and, as the car is due it's first service shortly I have arranged them together. Also a minor irritation with radio reception, I thought all cars now had RDS.
Reading a number of posts lately, reference is made to software updates, indeed I recently had one regarding the battery charge rate.
My question is, are the 'updates' done as a matter of course during a routine service, or only if a 'problem' is found? One Discovery, gone

Thanks for that, it was as I suspected.
Regarding the radio, I referred to RDS when I should have put AF, meaning auto frequency search.
I keep getting 'hiss' when listening to the radio, not all the time, but enough to find it very irritating,
When this happens the radio does not seem to 'search' for a better reception as I thought it would. One Discovery, gone

My 2013 XS seems to auto search but I use DAB and there isn't much of that north of Carlisle.
