Odd behaviour this morning [ cold weather ] | |
To quote Game of Thrones, "Winter is coming!"
Had an early start this morning and I wanted to heat the car up and defrost the windscreen before we put the baby in. I believe the FL2 has the winter pack so heated front window and seats etc.
I put on the front windscreen program button and left the car idling whilst I was pottering around in the garage and after 3-4 minutes the car started to sound rough. When I got in the revs were dropping so I turn her off for a bit. On start-up I had the dreaded "Reduced Engine Power" error, I cycled the ignition 3 times and the error disappeared. The cars been running fine all day so no obvious problems. I don't believe there is a DPF on our model THE 8th char in the VIN is B == Diesel non-DPF
I'm guessing as there was no load on the engine all the heaters were sapping the battery. Surely we should be able to defrost the car whilst idling which suggests the battery is on the way out? Or is it a case for the extra earth strap?
I have a bluetooth ODB-II connector and the following faults are logged:
P0045 Turbo/supercharger boost control solenoid circuit/open
P0570 Speed control acceleration/set switch on fault
My reader doesn't have any times against the faults so no idea if they are connected.
Booked it in with LR for next week, we are still under the Land Rover Approved warranty so not overly worried but not ideal!
