Stereo buttons/screen not lighting when headlights on

Hi all,

Anyone had the experience of the stock stereo unit (HSE 6 CD) not lighting when the headlights are turned on? Either parking, auto, or full manual headlights all produce the same result. Have checked all fuses and everything ok there - kinda feels like I bought a SAAB with the stereo blacked out at night. All other dash buttons illuminate normally as they should.

Anyone shed some light (excuse the dreadful pun)?

Stupid question but have you adjusted the light intensity on the dash its on the rhs of the wheel

Yep yep - first place I looked before going through 3 separate fuse boxes.

On an upside, I did find that my quick check of the spare when I bought the vehicle was too quick - noticed it is sans wheel brace. Grr...
