A quick update. I now have some new 2013My LED rear lights on order which should be here within the next week.

So once these and the 2013MY grill surround are fitted, it should give the car a nice fresh look! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Question: did you thought about replacing the instrument cluster with the new design one?

I have looked into this Alex. I don't think it can be done as the body control module and general systems are different on the 2013 MY.

Apparently it is easy to fit the 2011 version of the instrument panel. But if you know any way that it can be done, then I would be interested to hear. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Last day off before work starts tomorrow. So thought I would get on and fit the grill.

First job was to remove the old one, which came off with relative ease.

Then I had to remove a few little plastic tabs and bond the new one in place.

Then put the headlights back in, and job done.

With the 2013MY fog light surrounds, I think it looks good! A little more up to date! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Well this will be one of the last entries in to this Biography.

I'll get her all cleaned up and post a few last pictures before she officially goes up for sale. Big Cry

Hi Mav

Where did you get the new grill from and how much was it? I can only find it attached to the new whole front bumper too!

I have sprayed mine black to look like the limited edition which I think looks pretty good, no idea how to put photos in the message but I will add to my gallery if anyone wants to see how it looks

Ps what car is next for you? 2011 black FL2

Hi Luke, I had to buy the grill with a section of bumper.

But it's a Dynamic SD4 for me this time! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Hi Mav,

I really love your topic… Makes me (probably us) want to the same… But seems that you are missing one upgrade…

Any plans for headlight and taillight upgrades?

Have a great day!

Well here we have the final entry from me on this Biography regarding the development of the car! Big Cry

No doubt the car will still raise many questions about what has been done, and the Bio will carry on hopefully for the benefit of other members.

I have to say, it has been without doubt, the best car we have owned. Ultra reliable and never let us down. It is nice to move on to a new car, but still loved the way this one drove.

But these are the last pictures, just 10 minutes before she was driven away to Cambridgeshire.

Thats the new owner in the back ground!!

Brilliant write up.
I have just bought a 2011 SD4 XS in Stowaway Grey, its a great piece of kit and I can appreciate now why you guys are so positive about Freelander's.
I want to do some upgrades and was thinking about that twin pipe exhaust of yours. Can you tell us where it came from, pleased.?

Cheers

Keep an eye on eBay, or buy a new one for about £240. A very easy swap though. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Hi Mav
You might have seen my tribulations with the staining of my grille surround. I got nowhere with LR so I want to remove the surround and spray it. I see that when you put the Dynamic surround on your old car the the old surround came off relatively easily. I've got mine free along the top but without removing the bumper I can't see how to free it at the bottom. Is there a trick to it?
