Not always, but rather often, when I lock my car, external mirrors fold unsmoothly. Anyone else? |

My drivers side mirror seems to click on occasion when unfolding, but I am always stood to far away from teh car when I unlock it, so not really 100% sure of the problem. but it appears to happen always after it has been cleaned, so it maybe the guy does something with it when cleaning...... |

Do you hear a noise that should not be there? Does it sort of hesitate? Does one mirror fold faster than the other? Maybe a simple reset of the function - the dealer should be able to do this to your remote might cure the problem. As the FL2 is designedfor off-road the folding mechanism should be quite sealed so that there should not be any risk of dirt or water entering the mechanism FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER |

YES, I fully recognise the problem with mirrors not folding smoothly. I've had both mine replaced for that very reason. That was some months ago, I am now noticing again that they are not always smooth, if it gets much worse I'll be askig for them to be replaced again.

What have they replaced ? The whole system including both side mirrors or just the folding/unfolding system ? FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER |

Must admit, I did wonder if that would be a problem in the Norwegian winter ![]() ![]() Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

I would have preferred to choose when and if the mirrors folded or not |

Dealers can reprogramm your remote so that the mirrors do not fold automatically. FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER |

Yes, but I am a bit sceptical to this option because the possibility of operating the mirrors will be forgotten (by some). ![]() A good idea would be to have a dashboard push button next to the start/stop button (to operate them when needed) which is large enough and maybe with red (or pink) flashing and plinging LED’s reading “DOOR-MIRRORS” could be an alternative. ![]() ![]() Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

You do know that you can operate them manually already? if you program it so that they do not fold, then you can manually fold them whenever. Personally I like the auto fold, auto lights and auto wipers |

Quite agree, like - but I just wondered how long they will last in our winters that can be colder than -20 degrees C. ![]() The alternative I sugested would need that extra button for shhhhh ![]() ![]() ![]() Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

Yes, but only at the drivers door. -Which is the left door in Norway. Never had any problems with the passenger (right) door. I have believed this to me some sign of some hidden electrical fault. ?? A few weeks back it was terrible, and I decided to call service and have it fixed. Then suddenly it was OK again, and I decided to wait. Yesterday there was signs again that the mirror was squeeking a little bit, but not as bad as a few weeks ago. What can this be? 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack. |
