It's odd that Vredesteins rate highly by users over here yet never figure in reviews very well.

And, of course, being British they didn't bother to test the Avons which are popular in these parts! |

I have the Conti's and being as I don't have 4WD anymore, those results make it the best tyre for me. Just beats the Nokian on what matters. No longer need to worry about fuel efficiency LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Think it might be more to do with which Manufacturer might have sponsored (ahem!) financially the article the most, if truth be told.... Foraging near Gaydon....

if you Google 'tyrereviews' you will find a website which collates various test reports from UK and Europe with different catageories including 4x4 tyre reviews. the other (admittedly laborious) way is to use mytyres which links each tyre to various (German usually) test data reports. Why do people get so excited about autoexpress opinions? It is simply the weekly car version of Daily Blah-blah made up headline grabbing gossip b8ll8cks newspapers. eh tu? |

Adrian888 has hit the nail on the head there, Auto Express is all about selling advertising space for profit, sensational stories or those with a little hidden sponsorship perhaps, I treat it all with a pinch of salt.

The Nokian WR D3 tread looks like the Goodyear ultragrip - I have used the Ultragrip and it is an excellent snow tyre. I would not recommend the Nokian WR G2 - it is much more an all round tyre than a snow tyre. |

+1 for the Ultragrip, great tyres, good grip in the wet, very quiet, amazing on snow and ice |
