Audio Noise

Having charged up my battery in situ, I now get an extremely loud audio type noise through the speakers. Like a loud buzzing noise. Comes on when put into reverse and only stops when I put into neutral or park. It is not the parking aid sensors as these also come on when near my wall which then stops this audio buzzing.

Any ideas....

Try turning on your parking sensors manually to see if the noise comes on, sounds from what your saying that's were the problem is.

What charger did you used? Is it reliable? Do you trust it? Which voltage is it capable to supply towards the end of charging?
I don't want to spread negativism, but it's possible that, if the voltage was towards 16 volts, to have popped some capacitors on the amplifier module...

Thank you so very much. Problem sorted. In celebration I decided to go and have a couple of pints. Cheers....

Thanks for this mate. As you can see from above, problem sorted.

I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 that does the job.

You should only ever attach a trickle charger to a battery on the car.

Poorly regulated chargers can introduce high voltages either when first connected or toward the end of charging, and some expensive chargers can also give high voltages to 'recover' a poorly battery.

Either way, it's a big risk.
