I got my 2nd service for £250 Inc rear brake pads from Durham four wheel drive

mkm73 play Basingstoke and Guildford off against one another - I got a drop of over £200 from first quote a couple of weeks ago

Doh, didn't see your post LRFTW. Ah well, ended up going with Quava and with their discount for forum members it came to £345. They picked it up and dropped it off the same day, very happy (although our parking sensors have been playing up a bit since then, which seemed a bit too coincidental timing wise), but it's going in again tomorrow under warranty, so not too worried.

Robbie, that's a great price. I'm assuming that's an independent service centre rather than an official LR one?

Any recommendations for a 2nd service in the Midlands?

Just saved myself £250 on a "B" service and MoT at Team Valley LR. That more than paid for the trip up from London and I had a very pleasant couple of days in the North East. Not an option for most people I suppose, but I'm happy!

Just contacted peter vardy in Aberdeen for a second service on Mrs Dave's FL2...........£555 , I think they're taking the p155 a wee bit.

I would agree Peter Vardy are having a laugh - they sell all the parts needed for a full (B) service on the FL2 for £55 (see ebay item eBay Item No. 181230677903) which leaves a cool £500 for labour & oil which is outrageous or good business depending on your viewpoint.

That said, I am so glad to be out of all this.

Our two FL2s are out of warranty so I service them at home. The genuine service parts and Castrol Magnatec oil come in at around £80 per car. I recently did a full service and brake check on both of ours in under three hours (including fitted new rear pads to one of them) pottering at a steady pace. I appreciate its not for everyone but I enjoy it, I know they have been serviced properly and it saves a fortune.

It's par for the course from most dealers I'd say. Take a day off, motor up to Gateshead and get it done for half that at TVLR - and they'll lend you a car to go off and explore the Border country. Could even go into Scotland before they put the barriers up! They are LR approved, so warranty etc is fine. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
