I have purchased a VEBA AV2705 DVD player and am puzzled with the power connection. There are three wires: ground, battery and ACC.

Am I right in thinking the ground and battery should be tapped to the rear cigarette socket, and that the ACC (accessory?) should be tapped to the switchable front lighter power lead? Why does there need to be a permanent and temporary power supply? The manual isn't too helpful with connection.

Also, how easy are the seat covers to remove and how do you do it? I have also purchased the rear seat screens. I can't seem to find a opening under the seat.

Finally, how does the automatic gear knob come off? Does the button need special treatment?

Members on here have managed to thread the wires down inside the backrest. I guess you need a switchable power so the screens turn off with the key? and a permanent power incase you want to use the screens whilst parked up?

Thanks CG, most helpful. Managed to fit the headrests, left was easier than right. Only took 20 minutes once you know how.

Would the constant power drain the battery when parked up? And does it have to be wired to either permanent or switched?

I'm doing the same job now but have hit a snag.

The Video out cable from the headrest only goes down the back seat for abou 25cm - this means I can't see the plug and am unable to connect the wiring (to connect both headrests).

It's now obvious I need to remove the seat cover (or at least slide it up to get access) I'm progressing with this but am stack at the Lumbar support adjuster (round plastic wheel on the outside of each front seat) without getting the cover off and up over these I' can't gain access to the cable?

Any ideas on how to fully remove the front seat covers please?

Thanks for the link - that's the guide I'm using and it appears he doesn't remove the seat cover but reaches up inside them to direct the cabling - I've done that bit but just cannot see the end of the video out cable to attach it to the rest of the wiring loom.

I have had torches jammed up there and all sorts but no luck - I need to 'peel' the seat covers up just further than the lumbar support knob allows but without removing this - it just isn't far enough???

Has anyone replaced seat covers and know how to get the existing one up and over the lumbar support knob/wheel - how do I remove this without breaking anything?
