Gas warehouse heaters.

We need two new gas warehouse heaters at work, they haven't been condemned but the engineer said they won't last long. They are the type that are suspended from the warehouse roof. Is there anyone on here that can recommend any decent makes? The two that are failing are 10 years old and made by Powermatic. We have another one that is made by Reznor that seems fine. Didn't know if anyone on here is in the trade? Stuff like this can be a bit of a mine field with people pushing brands that make them the most cash etc.

Cheers all Thumbs Up Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

In the trade myself , mostly fit powrmatic from the nv range. If the haven't been condemned what does the engineers report say? Is it the heat exchanger that damaged which is quite common on the older units, new ones now stainless steel . If it's is burning fine and in reasonable condition they should be fine. silver 59 xs privacy glass side steps sat nav

Cheers, yes the insides of the two Powermatics are really rusty, about 3 years ago one was condemned as the heat exchanger rusted through. We got a Reznor installed as the Powermatics we were told were rubbish. Now the Powermatics are stainless steel then they are an option as they are cheaper I know than the Reznor's.

I need to get a couple of quotes so i'll look into the Powermatics. Thanks XS59 Thumbs Up Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

We need two heaters at 25kw each CG, not sure if the other directors at work would go with biomass. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

CG, with a Biomass heater, do you just buy loads of bags of pellets and just keep loading up a bunker with pellets? We've got 3 25kw heaters in our warehouse, they only work November to April. Do you use biomass to keep your chickens warm? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

bulk deliveries of pellets blown into a bin. my supplier does small loads as well as big, he often uses my site as 'filler' delivering one or two small loads to houses etc then the rest of the artic load comes to me.
also available in 1 tonne tote bags or pallets of small bags

pellet stores can be self supporting vertical bins, indoor wooden constructions if space allow or even shipping containers with augers in the bottom.
the container can contain the boiler at one end and fuel storage at the other.

I dont want the 10 kg bags as Ive used 45 tonnes of the things since June At work

wet, it has to be wet for the heat meters, the water feeds exchanger units with fans blowing hot air over the birds.

I now see that warehouse heaters are warm air so there is no existing hot water pipe work Neutral

I had no such pipe work before, we used basic lpg space heaters blowing the heat direct into the sheds, fumes and water vapour included.
The fitters installed several 100m of 'uponor' 63mm and 50mm pipe, suspended from the ceilings. I never saw an itemised bill but I know its not cheap stuff.

indirect hot air heaters with flues started to be used, but the biomass thing had knock that on the head sharpish,

I guess the difference between us and a warehouse is that we heat the space 24/7 290 days a year (the sheds are empty for 2 weeks 5 times a year.

chicks need at 33C when young but as they grow their body heat takes over and we need to ventilate rather than heat.

often we have to heat in order to ventilate to keep the air fresh and cycled without chilling the birds. At work
