Yes they have been changed, it's to stop people "over quoting" which was annoying and provided unnecessary work for the moderators.

Never noticed till now, but good shout has there's no need to quote on a post that yours would follow.. BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

Two months it's been like that, it was getting silly and taking a lot of time to clean up, Martin came up with this idea as a trial, it seems to be working on the whole. |

Certainly makes it easier for posters to comply with the forum rules doesn't it! I hadn't noticed it had changed..perhaps those previous red warnings subliminally worked

Ah the search, the holy grail of forum etiquette, if only there was a way, it's quite funny sometimes as depending on the time of year, weather etc you can pretty much guarantee someone will ask one of the perennial favourites.

We have also looked at an idea whereby the poster would respond as follows, rather than with a quote, not ideal as it could still lead to scrolling back and forth, any thoughts?

If I quote someone I try and delete as much info as possible from the quoted text, keeping things neat and showing what Im refering too At work |

It does make it better without the Quote, on other forums it is not enforced it means a lot of scrolling. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
