Sweden 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame

Was just looking at the car now, and imagine my surprise ... Now it works again .. So now I can lock the car again. Happened actually the same thing last weekend, but it has worked all week apart again today. Suggesting it is still on the lock that is malfunctioning? Have ordered a used lock of a car scrap from a crashed Freelander 2 which I will install when I get it.

Failed this morning again, but worked again tonight. Unscrew the latch with the three Torx screws and took out the latch. Twisted apart, but found nothing wrong. Micro switch is working as it should and nothing was broken or torn in the lock. Assembled it back and hung it loosely in the cables. Tried at least 30 times and it worked every time. So now I'm a little confused.... What is the problem???

I am no electrician. But as you say (when) it fails you cannot operate the latch from either the tailgate handle or the remote, the only likely faulty item is the latch or the wiring to it. Otherwise, it would be the handle switch OR the remote at fault. Additionally, you have had the horn sound when trying to lock. This also points to there being a faulty latch. As you have already ordered a replacement latch, I suggest you change it and see if the fault disappears or changes. Confused Maybe someone else on here has another idea? 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Now that f....ing tailgate will not open again.... Shows tailgate open in the display Evil or Very Mad
I force it to open with a + on pin 1 and - on pin 2 with a external battery and it open.
I suspect a cable break somwhere.
Now to my question.... where is the electric connector anywhere to cabels which goes down in the tailgate, so I can measure every cable and find out which one who is interrupted.

Bump

The problems come and go it seems that is about a month between it happens and it wont work for a couple of days.
Disconnected the battery yesterday and then it work again. So I can lock the car again.
Anybody who have had this problem?? Softwareproblem?? Central locking unit problem??
Tried a put a jumper in the latch but it wont work.
Is there anywhere I could put a jumper to say to the central locking system that the tailgate is closed??
Tried a put a jumper in the latch but it wont work.
Where is the central locking unit placed?
Really confused now..

No aware of anyone having had to replace a second lock, the first ones were lasting a couple of years before the problem arose, it was a new one you fitted Question

Still problems with the tailgate. Think it is the relay that does not work sometimes. Anyone know where I can find it and know what it is for part numbers?
