Thanks folks! Well eBay it is I'm guessing dealer has confirmed I cannot get a full size spare with the dynamic alloy! If I run a different wheel size on the dual carriage wil it not cause stress on the drivetrain/haldex coupling unit MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Hi, i got an 19" alloy from fleabay for my Dynamic( havent got mine yet, turns up Friday) . its same style but is the OE for the HSE which is part silver. Did bid for a Dynamic wheel a while ago, but it went for nearly £300! There were plenty of 19" wheels on not long ago. just got to get a jack now. Roll on Friday. |

All the wheels have the same diameter, so you can use any of them for a spare (except 16", which I seem to remember can't be fitted on some models). When the steel spare was supplied, some came with an identical tyre, some with a slightly different size. This is apparently OK. Never heard of the manufacturers fitting a Kumho though.

And we have established before that it is not illegal to run different size wheels or tyres together (although I wouldn't do it! |

The 2013MY model can't take 16" rims as the EPB caliper is too big. Hence the S trim now comes with 17s as standard. In the past LR have provided spares with a lower profile tyre, eg 225 compared to a 235 on the 17" rim... hence a 50mph limit as the 225 is 1cm smaller in diameter. Apparently 2wd Freelanders come on a 225 17" profile as normal.

I think you will find that the 50mph limit is down to the steel wheel. The fixings are designed for an alloy and are less safe for a steel wheel. At least that's what I've read. Could be rubbish I suppose. |

Pastmaster you are indeed correct, my first Freelander had a steel rim and Wrangler 235/65/17 limited to 50mph and Dealer said it was due to it being a steel rim. |

Don't think its to do with the tyre size, more to do with the fixing bolts designed for alloy wheels and the temporary wheel is steel. The alloy wheel bolts on the Freelander have a different face to the ones required for the Steel wheel. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
