I didn't buy a steel wheel but did pay £230 for a new single 18 inch sparkle matching alloy with a new tyre from fleabay. Probably paid too much but I like a matching set and I can always sell it and put back the tyre gunk when I chop the car in. _________________

Can't you just buy another wheel with the same rolling circumference for your spare? There are always odd wheels for sale on ebay. |

I'm surprised that an alloy spare isn't an option whichever wheel you choose on a new car. If that's really the case I would go for the cheapest option on the new car and then buy a spare from eBay. It doesn't matter what it looks like as it's only gong to be on the car while the punctured one is being repaired. I would make sure that the one you buy is exactly the same size etc as the car wheels - there are laws about this but there's also the safety aspect.

I wanted a proper alloy spare wheel, so I kept an eye on eBay. Bought a set of four all with good tyres.

If you go to the Build Your Own part of LR's www, as soon as you tick the option for a spare wheel, it advises that you will have the dark finish removed and replaced with a set of Sparkle Silver. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Hmm - what size wheel/ tyre is it and what tread is left? I need 1 235/65/17 Goodyear Wrangler 104v to complete a good set, must have at least 5-6mm Rob |

I've just bought an ex-demo Dynamic which came with a matching spare wheel ... a 19" 10 spoke alloy with the dark paint finish. |

Thank you! I wonder if the dealer paid £800 odd pound extra as that's what they are charging me! Or if they ran it through as a £185 spare wheel option MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior MY15 Xenon Headlight Conversion MY17 RRS SVR - Estoril Blue Cirrus/Ebony 🪣💺’s |
