2011 facelift freelander2 rear lights

Please can anybody help with freelander 2011 facelift As I have purchased a second hand set of clear lenses which hand LED bulbs fitted but which pulsed when plugged in but they do have resisted Wired in.
Question ?
1 does the 2011 facelift rear light run and LED bulb from the factory due to the white Lens or A conventional stop tail bulb in red
2 when rewiring the resistor across the side light circuit the resistor gets so hot it could melt plastic
3 Has anybody experience this problem
4 Resistors used are Arcol HS 10 and HS 50 both became extremely hot to the point of being a fire hazard but the LED bulbs worked correctly
Any advice very much appreciated many thanks

Hi, I have the same light units, fitted with Stop/Tail LEDs and resistors obtained in a purchase from ebay. I just changed the LEDs for normal "red" bulbs. sorted!

I did notice these light units also have additional lamp holders for capless bulbs for use as side markers - used for the US market I guess. I did try bulbs in those fittings and it stopped the pulsing but I didn't like the "side" reds so kept with the red conventional bulbs. Cannot really see the point of the LEDs.

Many thanks bob for the info the rear lights are the last part of the 2012 face lift conversion so I may just opt for standard red 380 stop/tail bulbs which I think are standard factory fitment?
I was just concerned they may not be bright red enough as they are going in clear lenses but I'm pretty sure they are standard factory fitment
I'm a bit of a newcomer to this forum been registered for a while but never used it so excuse the posts if things are not in the right places e.g. photographs etc just finding my way around
Look forward to contributing a bit more now I have the time

I have a 62plate , and the rear clear lenses house 'coloured' bulbs for indicator and tail/stop, they have an offset pin arrangement, not the standard equal distance between if you look down at the bulb, Never tell me the odds.

Thanks for for confirming that they do run coloured bulbs for stop/tail and signal as asked the dealer and they said standard clear bulbs can u believe . It's only because I purchased a set of light units with them retro fitted but thought they may have been standard from the factory fitment many thanks
