Alloy wheel cleaning product

Please recommend me a good alloy wheel cleaning product, normally I just clean the alloys with the normal car wash (Halfords own brand) but every time my car goes in for a service & complementary wash they must use a specific wheel cleaner as the alloys come up like new.

I have some Meguiar's wheel cleaner which does a decent job. I can't really comment on how it compares with other products though.

I tend to use it when I change wheels for winter/summer, so each set gets a proper clean once a year, and usual car shampoo in between.

I have used Valet Pro Bilberry which you can dilute with water for several years, its pretty gentle, works fine on the wheels and quite cost effective if you get 5 litres at a time to dilute. Some of the ones I have used in the past have been pretty acidic and whilst they get all the crud off, they have ended up discolouring the finish after prolonged use.

If you have stubborn deposits which wont shift the Iron-X is great, dissolves the baked on iron deposits and can be used on the cars lowers and tailgate as well

I always stay away from any acid based wheel cleaners.

I always use Billberry like a few above. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
