side mirror dips to full extent when reverse selected

over the past few days when I select reverse the passenger side mirror opens out and dips to its full extent.then when I disengage reverse it moves back but only slightly.
ive reset the reverse dip position but every time I select revers the same thing happens

any advise or anyone had the same issue

Isn't it (they) supposed to do this. This an aid when you are reversing. Can't get mine to change when reversing.

yes it should do this, you set the level of dip when reverse is selected to suit the driver.
but the drivers mirror dips at the level I set it but the passenger mirror does what it wants ,it moves out 100% and down 100% then does not return to the normal driving position as it should.

obviously faulty but wanted to know what is faulty rather pay 1 hr labour for landrover to tell me

Set it to where it should be and then reset the memory seats (assuming you have them).

Haven't looked into the wiring diagram and this was the behaviour of P38A Rangiies which needed new position sensing resistors in the mirrors.
