Have a look in my gallery at both my FL2's.....one had factory tints, the other was retrospectively applied. You will see the obvious difference, however, they don't appear to have had any impact on either aeriels or heating elements.

Badger , do you know what % tints were applied to your car ? , was told that LR originals are about 20% and have just been quoted 」130 for this for B pillar rearwards . |

Those were 20%. They are supposed to replicate the factory tints, which to a degree they do, but as you will have noticed, the damn wires are still quite prominent. My understanding is that factory tints are actually a proper coating applied by Pilkington, as opposed to a tint "film" which won't mask the elements etc.

I would never have after market tints, purely because of the fact I hate that you can see the heater elements, where as OE tinted glass you can't. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

I am on my 3rd car with after market tints. The first was already done when bought the previous owner having it installed for security as much as anything else (he was a TV cameraman). I had my A2 tinted to exactly match the tint on the factory glass roof and so matches the factory spec and the FL was done by the company the local LR dealers use. eh tu? |

Has anyone bought the DIY after market tint kits that can now be bought fairly cheaply off ebay and installed the tints on the windows. If yes were they successful or should you avoid them. |

Well I regularly return 28.5 in every day solo driving, whereas towing, I'm lucky to get much over 24, sometimes less!
