Off Roading in an Evoque!

Well Zoe, our 17 year old is going on the Land Rover Start Off road experience today. This is a scheme for 11 to 17 year olds to start off road driving.
We bought it for her as a birthday present.
She gets to drive a dual control Evoque, with Lizzie and I as rear seat passengers. First time we will have been in an Evoque.
The experience is happening on the Chavenage Estate in Goucestershire.
When we get back I will pop some pictures up! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue

My Number 2 son is going to be doing this in November as a 13th Birthday Present....he doesn't know it yet. We are doing Ragley Hall.

I think that it represents terrific value for money, as it will teach the basics of off-roading in a state of the art vehicle, and give youngsters a good grounding for later on in life. Top marks to whoever came up with this idea! Thumbs Up Foraging near Gaydon....

you will enjoy it.

I'm looking into doing one in my own Freely. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

What an absolutely brilliant time! Instructor was superb! Some quite taxing bits!
Near top of the range Evoque! Cameras all round! No grab handles in the evoque though!
Very impressed with Zoes driving as well!
She is now sorting out her next session!

Anyone wanting more information can find it at:

Saw them at Rockingham a couple of weeks ago and the young drivers seemed to be having a fantastic time and most wanted to come back for another go.

Well my son really enjoyed his first off roading experience today even though it chucked it down with rain for most of it and the hour went past very quickly. Once he got the hang of using just his right foot for both pedals and got over his nervousness he had a great time. Our Instructor Neil was very good, explained what the hdc and terrain buttons did. Very patient as well, not sure I would have been! I learnt quite a bit to and it was good to experience what using hdc was actually like. Climbs and decent were not too steep but enough for a 13yr old. No water to go through but Neil said they are looking at making a water area now that LR have committed to doing this at Ragley for a while. Also good to see what other cars were doing while we went round as they were using 5 evokes. Definitely recommend it.

My son now has more off roading experience than me so need to book a LRE day! Laughing Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey
