You can adjust the intensity of the dash lights where the lightning controls are. |

Hello - I mean its the rheostat on the same small panel as the headlight level controller bottom right of steering wheel. It seemed to work for a bit and now not any more |

Does the manual say anything? Mine sometimes brightens when lights off but driving in a dark area eg under heavy tree cover etc * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Hi. Can't find anything in manual. Car hasn't got auto lights on the lighting stick , if that's relevant. I noticed the problem on Friday when it was quite dark - p'ing it down all day. That's when the rheostat seemed to do something. It hasn't responded for the past 2 days, but it has been brighter all weekend. I'll go and check tonight when it gets darker. I'd have thought a rheostat should work at all times unless there's some clever computer stuff going on with regards to ambient lighting. Cheers |

Problem solved. You need the lights on for the dimmer to work. The backlight is barely there when the lights aren't on and is not adjustable when lights aren't on. Obviously got a lot to learn about this car! |

Still strange goings on with the dash lights- notably the central display with the fuel & temp gauges. When lights are on (in relatively low light conditions), this part of the display dims and brightens for no apparent reason as far as my eyes can work out. The dealers will check it out this week |

It's supposed to do it and I've worked it out now (and where the light sensor is) |

Yep. Mine does the same. It's just too damn clever for its own good. * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.
