United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Santorini Black
Dog Guard

Hi all,

I am new to this site and would like to say hello.

I am about to collect a ex demo F2 XS 2013 after p/x an outlander gx3 and can't wait.

One thing, I could not warrant paying what LR asked for a boot dog guard.
Could anyone out there recommend a suitable product that is econmical and removable should you want to use the boot space other than for the dogs?

Regards,
Peter

I attach a picci of my new baby!

I bought the genuine LR half height one from Dan@Duckworths, though still more expensive than an aftermarket one it was cheaper than the LR recommended price.

Very easy to remove should you need the extra space.

As has been said keep an eye on the for sale section or eBay bargain spots Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I have a cage that fits about half the size of the boot. It makes it easy to pop in and out and when away we have a kennel for Maisie!

We have two setters so cage is not an option.
In the outlander we had a FF dog guard at 150 pound!
I have looked on the net and seems have found something at 120 which should do the job.
I just wondered if anyone who had an F2 could recommend a product.
Thanks for the thought though.

Thanks chaps, they are similar to what I was looking at, so I can't be too far off.
You have confirmed what I thought was ok.
Pick the car up tomorrow, can't wait!

Same here. Trouble we found with dog guards is that the dog ends up licking the windows or smudging them with a wet nose! Takes up no room when doing the weekly shop as you just load the shopping either side and even into the crate (provided the dog isn't with you). Our one is angled both front and rear and just fits perfect between the angle of the rear seat and the tailgate and we can leave the rear parcel shelf in too. If you are considering a cage, let me know and I'll take some pics and let you know where we got ours from. All depends on the size of the dog though. What dog do you have? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I bought a cage from EBay, it only just fits, but because its oblong it looses a lot of space, going back to a dog guard.

They aint smudges, they are nose art,

I have two setters which are large dogs so suitable cages would be too big.
A dog guard is the way to go for us and thanks to the above comments have decided on a product.
After 6 years of owning said pooches we stand with the dog art outlook, although misty glass and dog drool does not look the best!

I use the smaller one of these for my Cocker - plenty of room for her. The twin slopes fit well in the back of our FL2 and we never have to take it out or fold it down.

You'll probably hate me for saying this, but I've just read your thread a little too late.

The Britpart dog guard mentioned earlier for c. £70, is actually a travall, which sells on their website for over £100.... Big Cry
