to be fair there is a big gap to see under the bonnet.

I did something similar years ago in a Merc, washed it and took it for a "dry", bonnet wasn't shut down and it flew up, bent over and the star dented the sunroof
My father was the body shop manager at the garage, he wasn't impressed
