Years ago when we were moving house, my wife had to phone the mortgage company several times. It cost around 20 quid in calls most of which were on hold. My wife complained and she got refunded for the phone calls!!

Innit a pain yesterday I had to ring the Inland Revenue as they coded me for a £3,800 medical insurance perk I don't have any-more, after an 'interesting' story how I could find all my answers on their website I had to navigate about 5 menu's listening to at least 6 options on each.
At the end I was told if I wish too speak to an advisor then please hold, which I did for about 20 minutes. I'm hoping their new 0300 number is cheaper than their old 0845 one

To keep costs, if not time down, I've found this site most useful, using the inclusive minutes on my mobile tarrif to call 'proper' numbers! It has never failed to find a cheaper option for me!
