We all had long sleeves during the factory tour, excellent day and siting the X761 prototype was a bonus, of course you needed to be there to see it Thumbs Up

Anyone hazard a guess as to what X761 is? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Gaydon...heritage museum, access to the LR design centre! decent off road track, maybe the boys in media can help put a day together, slowly dull won't be the same.

Dunno what we'd be able to see at Gaydon. I never saw any groups of visitors in design areas when I worked there so I suspect we'd be ushered to some sort of visitor display facility.
Unless my old swipe card still works Whistle
Having said that, I'd certainly be up for a visit Thumbs Up

Good idea Taz Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue

They have just rebuilt their own off-road track, which looks pretty awesome, plus they have "the Wall" there, where they test all the aerodynamics. Lisa at Halewood was telling me last Friday that she was going round the sides at over 100 in an Evoque last month...that's a top secret part of Gaydon that I have never seen, and would love to! In the main, it's the D&E side of the business, so you have more chance of seeing the future there than anywhere else I would say... Foraging near Gaydon....

What you probably want is the Design and Engineering Tour which is described on the Gaydon Land Rover Experience website as:

DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN AT GAYDON

Get even closer to Land Rover and enjoy privileged access to restricted vehicle development areas to see the rigorous tests and design procedures that every Land Rover vehicle undergoes. At our engineering headquarters you値l experience the virtual world of new vehicle design and development. Thanks to the cutting-edge technology, you can see your favourite Land Rover models from inside and out.

The area Badger is talking about is not normally open to the public although anyone lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the All New Range Rover Sport may have been lucky enough to experience driving around the Emissions Track at 155mph.
