Normal road mode is what I'd use.

M&R would give a more even torque distribution, but it'll also reduce throttle response when you need extra torque for towing. The car's systems will still re-distribute the torque if needed, whatever mode you're in.

The FL2 is pretty good at towing whatever mode it's in!

Hi,

Also bear in mind...max tow bar limit is 2 tonnes......tow hitch (the little U shaped thing fitted to the chassis both back and front....5 tonnes!)

Another useful snippet of information gained on our LRE day at Rockingham! Kola is the big solid black German Shepherd, Dobbie is.......a breed you've never heard of......yet;)

I'm almost correct , attach a caravan or trailer onto a swan neck and you can pull more than 20kg with care,

but nothing else, no ropes chains shackles none of it they are only designed for trailers.

Also the ball can snap off and shoot off at dangerous speed.

To use a towbar for such things fit a non swan neck type and bolt on a jaw type clevis instead of the ball.

Swan necks are a make shift design to get around the problem of owners not wanting to cut holes in their plastic bumpers.

Also see the posts on here about detachable swan necks coming loose/rattling

form over function really.

this is not an anti caravan rant just fact .... on this occasion At work

Am I missing something, as I always thought that in the UK, you could not tow a trailer (which I believe would include a broken down car) that weighs more than your own kerb weight! That could lead to a few problems if you are being a good Samaritan. 2007 SE Manual : Gone and missed but 2013 HSE Lux is better!
Series IIa : Gone but hopefully still alive.
