Navigation system screen broken

Hello,

I had an accident and I broke the screen of the genuine navigation system : the touch part of the screen does not work, and the glass is broken. So i can not use the GPS.

What do you suggest ?
1: Go to a dealership land rover
2: home repair but how ?
3: enjoy this event to choose another navigation system

Thank you for your help, Philippe

I don't have any expertise in this, but would you just need too buy a new screen

If so there is one on eBay UK item number eBay Item No. 390663522972

If they are unable to post, they are just down road from me,so might be able to sort something out

(Strange my iPad auto links to that just by what I typed, ios7 isn't that bad after all) Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

How does this happen?

The car was with the rear seats folded down and a lot of material on it.

Suddenly, i had to slow down and roll cover box which was not in its place, came up against the GPS!

To get at it is fairly straight forward but seems drastic, you remove the top centre section of the centre console to be able to remove the front centre piece and the screen is behind that held in by a couple of screws, I think it is held in by some the centre piece retainers. If you can access the fitting instructions for fitting the rear seat entertainment screens it is the first part of that because you need to remove all of that to be able to lift the centre console around the gear lever to change the wiring and add the jack box. I'll see if I've still got mine kicking around but it was a coupls of years ago since i fitted them. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

Have a look in the Maintenance and Modification section and a look for the Ultimate Sat Nav Guide, should help you taking the centre of the dash apart. Thumbs Up p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Another question.

the place where the genuine touch screen navigation system is : can i put a DIN 2 multimedia system in ?

If i put a navigation system below (where the Alpine radio is) i think it is not a good thing, even dangourous, because the screen is too low to see the road, and at the same time, watch navigation directions on the screen ? What do you think?

I always said if the built in nav ever failed I'd do the built in Tom Tom solution.

Cheaper maps, speed cameras. Downsides being not a pro finish and no directions though the speakers.
