I was going to keep this to myself but decided to stand up and be shot at.
On Wednesday I went to collect the new FL2 and despite previously having refused all the other services they try to sell you I for some unknown reason and without pressure from the salesman agreed to having the GuardX treatment done.
I had decided at £399 it was a rip off and I would buy the materials and do a similar treatment myself but it's going in on Monday for the treatment and time will tell if it is worth it.
So there you are, it's off my chest now and you can start shooting.
It would be nice to hear from someone who has had it done and are satisfied with the price and performance.

Had both of my Freelanders guardx treated. Just can't resist the silver briefcase full of their goodies. As a bonus, their tyre mend you get is one of the only ones that can be rinsed out and the tyre then repaired.

Silver brief case? tyre mend?? more like a sad canvas bag with some basic shampoo, tyre gloss, leather cleaner and a few other bits and pieces but then mine was PureGuard.

We couldn't believe the sell of "gap" insurance, "extended warranty" (should have gone for that but cost was large) and "paint protection system". For some reason we just folded on the paint protection which at £400 was the cheapest of the stuff we were being "sold", perhaps that's why, it was the cheapest item!!!!

All that said I've had the car since April and it comes up looking spanking with a minimum of cleaning, the dirt does seem to stick less than on previous cars. Worth £400+? I'm not sure about that but didn't then (nor now) fancy the graft involved in buying from ebay and applying myself. Definitely a marmite product though isn't it! Evokes as much passion and heat as 2SO in the fuel tank in my experience.

I paid a reduced rate on the first one of £200 (although it took a lot of bartering), but the second one was a freebie or I wasn't going to do a deal that day.
It's a hard silver case with all the cleaning stuff (the later one having some brilliant bird dropping remover) then you get a metal torch, utility pen knife, the tyre mend a chamois and a pen.

Had mine done with "A Guard" at a cheaper price than the official quoted price, no shiny tin box though just a black nylon bag. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

For gap insurance just insure with NFU 2 years gap thrown in
