Last Minute Holidays

Afternoon all,

I've got the best part of a month off work from the 22nd, looking to disappear somewhere nice for 7-14 nights depending on cost. Anyone personally recommended any destinations for this time of year that's still got the weather etc etc.

Ideally looking to go 5 star, all inc, I'll be going on my own and from my searching Sharm is coming out as matching the criteria and price at around £500 plus transfers and insurance for 7 nights.

It's just always nice to have a resort or hotel recommended rather than going in blind and buying a lemon of a holiday!!

Cheers Thumbs Up

Look on www.teletextholidays.co.uk. There are some bargains

Canary Islands - especially Lanzarote.

Just don't pick last week on October - kids holidays = rip off.

We have just bribed the kids into not going by buying them a new laptop. We are off in November instead.

Just about to book Gran Castillo in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. 5* for £500 in November. Stayed at the hotel next door to it earlier this year.

We were 6 when we went & looked at having two hire cars but opted for 9 seater VW caravelle and it was fab
and much easier with just one vehicle. We hire a luxury villa with large pool and pool room wi-fi and jacuzzi etc and it was 3600 for 2 weeks.
We just used Avis, took photo of van before and after and no drama.

The Caves is a must and fabulous inside, I will give you a big tip, when you visit the caves and following the guide when you arrive at the auditorium wait in the chairs at the back and leave everyone else to walk forward. when the guid returns be the first to follow him through to the next set of caves ! there is a mind blowing illusion at the end so keep up with the guide but stand back from the edge !
Take a good camera

Oh and I forgot the Go Karting San Bartolome
oops I missed another of our favourites El Lago Verde, El Golfo !
We used to go twice a year for some years as weather was always really good. When we first used to go it was all un made roads and lots of Donkeys and carts 30 years ago but much more built up now with Dual carriage ways & tarmac these days. Jaguar x-type sport gone
