That's a major issue when something locks solid, it will be very interesting to see what has happened. If of course you get the whole story, last thing LR need is a problem that has got worse from a low level fix?
Unfortunate for yourself but lets hope it's an isolated incident.

Important thing is that your all OK, could have been a real mess, cars stop pretty darn quickly when things go bang and with no warning to those behind....doesn't bear thinking about

okay so i am still waitlng for my 57 to be returned.i have told evans halshaw that i want land rover to deal with the diff issue even though it has had a new diff fitted.i noticed on the invoice for the first replacement diff that they had used 2 bottles of diff oil but the recommended amount is 0.7ltr,so did they actually cause the diff to explode by over filling it with 2ltr of diff oil?

had two incidents with them when I owned a Vauxhall. First was an in warranty (12 month old corsa) recall. Decided to have it serviced whilst I was there. Got a call telling me that my 12 month old car had over £1,000 worth of problems. Main one was poor alignment of wheels had damaged two tyres. Told them to just service it and nothing else. When I got it back they had not bothered putting any of the inside trim they had removed back. Took it to a back street garage where the bloke is on old school mate and got all the work done for £200.

Second time was when the electronic tail gate stopped working. To be fair they did it under warranty as it was a known fault but there was also an issue with the power steering. The wouldn't do that because I had bought the car from another branch and they would have to seek approval from that branch to do the work. They would ring me back when they got approval. I'm still waiting several months on - oh and I swapped the Insignia for a Free Lander Laughing

well stratstone stourbridge have contacted me and said my car is now 100%.they have carried out a full vsc and its had a full service.so i should be picking it up tonight.have not been informed by evans halshaw as to why the first new diff failed so i can only assume it was down to thier negligence when they over filled the diff,am unsure how to approuch that issue with them or the time i have been without my car, although we have had a loan car since the diff exploded.would i be wrong in expecting some kind of compensation for thier mistake?
