It's on your VIN, about the middle of the vin number will be letter a,b,c or d. a is petrol, b is no dpf, c is dpf, d is post 2011. |

Wipe your finger inside the Tail Pipe, black finger no DPF, clean finger DPF fitted. On UK spec Freelanders they were an option prior to MY10, then became standard, have a search through EY's posts he has posted a diagram showing where the DPF is fitted. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

How do we know when it's in regen mode? Can you decide when to regen, when your on a long motorway trip for example? |

Regeneration takes place every 190-560 miles depending on speeds, the slower the speeds the longer the regeneration. Should take about 20mins. A regeneration is requested by the engine control module when driving between 40-70mph.

That's another reason why I have kept mine. As it is a 56 plate it has no DPf!

It's a pre facelift according to FL2Voodoo's gallery, so unless someone specced it with one as an option as it wasn't standard fit at that time. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

My understanding is that DPF was standard from MY11 on, mine has one and never had an issue with it, high mileage though that will help.
